Updated Content Curation Rules - Quuuuality Criteria

Matthew Spurr
As you’re aware, at Quuu we pride ourselves on the fact that we take the time to hand pick (or curate) content for you to share with your following. This way there’s nothing irrelevant or damaging that’s going to either bore or offend your audience.
I’ve blogged about this process before, but as every good company should do, we like to review our processes continuously to ensure constant improvement. We base a lot of this on feedback from you guys, and a pinch of common sense.
Here is a sneak peak at rules that we use behind the scenes for selecting content that is submitted by

Binary: Rules For Exclusion

If the answer is ‘Yes’ to any of the following 14 questions, then the article is rejected.
B1 - Is there bad language and/or vulgarity?
B2 - Is it sales-focused, or a single product review?
B3 - Does it take too long to get to the point?
B4 - Is the website difficult to view? (Too many adverts, intrusive pop-ups, small font, over-use of italics, etc.)
B5 - Is the content time-sensitive?
B6 - Does it contain dead links?
B7 - Is it a home page, index page or does it require a login and/or download?
B8 - Is it in any language other than English?
B9 - Is the content too specific or irrelevant to the intended category?
B10 - Is the content too strongly opinionated or biased towards the subject? (This has to be shared by people who may not share your view.)
B11 - Are there obvious or repeated grammar, punctuation or spelling errors?
B12 - Has the article already been submitted to another category before?
B13 - Is there already more than 33% content in one interest category from this source?

Subjective: Rules For Inclusion

S1 - The content must be deemed to provide sufficient interest and/or value.
S2 - The content cannot be deemed to be too offensive, shocking or inappropriate.

Q1 - Do not submit duplicate articles to different interest categories; they can only ever be placed in one category.
Q2 - Research and add the best hashtags to use to
Q3 - Mention the key people featured in the article if there’s space.
Q4 - Do not add your name or username to a post where you are not responsible for authorship.
Q5 - Before submitting, proofread all tweets and posts to avoid errors.
Q6 - Customize all tweets and posts, do not use the default text dragged from the site - these have to be engaging - ask yourself if you would click this?
Q7 - are permitted to submit podcasts and videos over 10 minutes in duration as long as they adhere to the above rules.
We hope that you’re happy with the content suggestions we provide, we truly care about the work we do and want to make sure that we save you all time in finding the right stuff to share
